He became upset when  he heard  that place is going to become a construction site. He had bad dreams and hear mysterious whispers when the graveyard's protective rowan tree is uprooted by workmen. One day he was brought to spend night in the graveyard by his father's behavior, as usual. There he saw one of the workman being get swallowed up by the ground after unearthing a mysterious chest marked with the word "Malefice". He later discovers that a victim of the Scottish witch hunt is buried there. Amy Miller, the professor's young daughter, who has struck up a friendship with him, is drawn to the graveyard. Solomon saw it and he like to save her from the evil, for that he follows her to protect her from the evil presence which tries to possess her. . With his father's help, he manages to rescue her and save himself.
With the encouragement of Ms Talmur, one of the teachers from school who has helped him throughout the book but leaves to get a promotion at the end, he begins to change his life, although he knows it will be an uphill struggle. His father agrees to attend an Alcoholics Anonymous class to perhaps change his life also.
Story was quite good and reveals about the facts that children will go away encouraged rather than demoralised at the possibilities of the human condition. Good presentation of the story, because of good writing.
