3 mistakes of my life by Chetan Bhagat

3 mistakes of my life is a novel by Chetan Bhagat. The main characters in this story are 3 friends: Govind ,Ishan and Omi. Govid wants to become a businessman, Ishaan's dream is to become a cricket player, and omi is the son of a hindu priest and he doesn't have any aim in his life.

                They join together and open a shop, selling cricket equipments, because they consider cricket as the first priority in their life. And their lives completely changed. At the same time Govind falls in love with Ishaan's younger sister Divya.

                Omi's Bittoo uncle, a communal party man bent on converting the young into fighters in the name of Hinduism and wants that these boys should work for their secular party

                Ishaan is very passionate in cricket. He was a good cricket player in the school and hopes to be Indian Cricket team member. But he performs badly in the selections and he gets rejected.  At that time they meet Ali, a young Muslim child, who is a gifted cricketer. Ishaan starts coaching him with a hope to see him in Indian Cricket team one day.

                There are three mistakes of Govind in this story. The first mistake is that, to improve their business, they decide to move their business to a mall. They pay the advance and book a portion in the mall. But unfortunately an earthquake damages the mall and they lost their money.

                His second mistake is that he fell in love with Vidhya. Ishaan finds out about Vidhya and Govind,a betrayal he does not forgive.

                Bittoo uncle sends his son and Omi's mother with other sevak to Ayodhya. On their journey Muslim mob put on fire the bogie of sevaks.in that uncle lost his son. Ahmedabad burns in riot fires.bitto uncle with his party workers kill Ali's family and uncle wants to kill Ali.

                His third mistake is happened while protecting Ali from the Bittoo uncles attack. Due to a second delay, a blade of Bitto uncle's trishul jabbed Ali's wrist, and he become unfit for playing cricket. Omi dies while saving Ali from Omi's uncle.

                After these events Ishaan has not talk with Govind for more than 2 years. These events lead Govind to commit suicide, but fortunately he survives, and that is when he writes the email to Chetan. Chetan solves the problem between Ishaan and Govind. And rekindles love between Govind and Vidya and instills in him the desire to stay alive.
